In addition to our corporate finance advisory practice Sequoia also assesses and selects investment opportunities. We provide own private capital and advice to private companies in the Netherlands. Although we leverage our own industry expertise and experience, companies selected for private investments by Sequoia generally operate in market niches where we believe more value can be created by small teams of entrepreneurs and fellow shareholders supported with hands-on financial and operational Sequoia resources.

Compared to companies we come across in our corporate finance advisory practice, firms selected for private investments are in a different phase of development and often smaller sized fast growing companies with new concepts or technologies. We support these companies in their respective financing, marketing or other development needs. Investments are often made on projections and discussions with company founders or product developers. Industry expertise and a keen sense of capital requirements form the basis of investment decisions.

Sequoia seeks investment opportunities on a continuous basis often stimulating company developers to explore alternative means of product enhancement and use. Through direct involvement and broad range of key industry contacts and expert knowledge of potential client requirements we are in an excellent position to immediately enhance company momentum, support and increase its client base and further contribute to product development.

Investment prospects are screened, requiring extensive financial and operational analysis and market studies. Direct investments are situated between EUR 1 – 5m, and are often part of a larger financing solution for the portfolio company.
